The manner in which we communicate with others can be as important as the words we use. In fact, our manner or style can either help or hinder communication. Recognizing this need, we have developed a series of training courses that addresses the social delays commonly experienced by children.
AOS helps children develop communication skills in the context of interactive activities with a focus on developing eye contact, using appropriate body language, resolving verbal conflicts, using self-advocacy skills in the classroom, and applying effective repair strategies, to name a few skills.
Children should be at or above grade expectations and able to sustain positive behavior with others. Having completed our Level 1 program, students then move to Levels 2,3, and 4 as their skills indicate. Taught by speech-language pathologists and assistants, the group meets for 90 minutes once weekly for six weeks, three times yearly. A questionnaire and parent discussion determine specific goals for each student as well as the appropriate program level.

I would like to thank you both for the time and effort that you gave in assisting me in working on my case package for promotion. Your efforts have brought forth fruit in the fact that as of Oct. 1st, I will be promoted. Once again, I thank you Steve for your mentorship and guidance, and Cathy for your assistance in "word smithing" and encouragement.
We are so grateful to you for your amazing influence in Stephan's life. I wonder sometimes how his life would have been different without the benefit of your expertise, wise counsel, and fun therapy!
Thank you, thank you! And may the lord bless you with continued health, fellowship, and success.
